Production Updates : July 19, 2021
Dear Singing Tea Kettle Enthusiasts,
As usual I want to thank you all for being patient in this production process. This process is arduous and cumbersome - but just the thought of hearing the sweet melody of "Tea for Two" brings a smile to my face.
So where are we?
Since our last update the tea kettle has passed the complete salt-spray test to ensure corrosion is not an issue. Since we sorted out all plastics fitment issues at standing temperatures we discovered one of the parts is too malleable at high temperatures. This means the parts risk moving out of alignment. If you think about two mating pieces during assembly, there must be enough play or movement to squeeze the two parts together but not so much that the parts will come apart during normal operation. We have expedited delivery of another FDA approved plastics material (with fiberglass) to hold shape better and fix this. The material arrives at the factory tomorrow to begin production for testing this week. We are also sorting out a minor issue on the silicone gasket that mates with the rim of kettle to form an air-tight seal so notes can play.
Like all things in life this is about putting one foot in front of another and ensuring we are heading towards true North - a quality product we can all stand behind. Stay tuned!
